Last week, Sunny Days Library of the Children’s Clinical University Hospital held a special event during which the hospital library received the newest books published by the book house Jumava which were donated by Trasta Komercbanka and the book house.


The book house Jumava, in cooperation with Trasta Komercbanka, pays a visit to the Sunny Days Library every year to introduce the newest children books and their authors to readers, to expand the reading room collection, and to cheer up both children and their parents. TKB started the new year of 2012 with a charity event during which a Book Day was held in the hospital library. The motto of the Book Day says: “Read Books and Step into a Wonderful World of Fantasy”. During the event, children could listen to readings from children books done by Dace Vītola, actress of the Puppet Theater, and take part in creative studios where they could make drawings or create in other media heroes from their favorite books.

Gundars Grieze, Chairman of TKB, says: “A book is a trusted friend to everybody, no matter big or small, and it can be a good help to the personnel of the children’s hospital, whereas valuable and interesting reading material enriches the inner world of the reader, multiplies knowledge and brings positive emotions, which are so very necessary for readers of the Sunny Days Library. My wish for every visitor to the library in this new year is to experience the joy of reading, have inquisitiveness, and enjoy thrilling moments with the new books from Jumava.”

Ilze Marga, Manager of the Sunny Days Library, says: “The title of the book by U.Geislers and G.Jakobs published by the publishing house Jumava is “Laughter is the Best Medicine” and we received this book in the last year donation. From my experience, I can gladly confirm that this statement is correct. Working at the library every day, I can tell how much children appreciate nice and engaging books which they read with great relish amid the boredom of the routine. Annual book donations made by Trasta Komercbanka and the book house Jumava bring joy to children and help them look at the world with shining eyes.”
