Payment cards issued by the Bank have an extra security mechanism designed to protect the card when shopping online - MasterCard® SecureCode™. 

MasterCard SecureCode is an international online security service introduced by MasterCard and intended to guard against unauthorized use of your payment card while shopping online at retailers participating in the MasterCard SecureCode program.

How does SecureCode work?

The MasterCard SecureCode security system is based on the SecureCode password which you choose and use for your online shopping. This is a private password known only to you. This password ensures additional card user authentication in Internet stores across the world. And the number of stores registered with the MasterCard SecureCode program is constantly growing.

After you have enrolled for the MasterCard SecureCode service, paying for your online purchases will be as usual. The only difference is that once you have entered required details on the purchase order, a MasterCard SecureCode window will open automatically where you will be prompted to enter your SecureCode password (just like banks ask for your PIN code at ATM). Once the password is entered, your identity will be verified and confirmed and your purchase completed within seconds.

In order to make sure that for an online payment you enter your SecureCode password only and solely on the authorized web page of our bank, you have to create your own personalized greeting message when you register for this service. Further on, this greeting message will always appear along with the request to enter your SecureCode password.

How to get MasterCard SecureCode?

A primary MasterCard SecureCode password is automatically assigned to all Maestro and MasterCard cards issued by TKB. For security reasons, this password is not disclosed to a card user. To use your MasterCard SecureCode for payments when shopping online, you will have to replace the primary password with a permanent MasterCard SecureCode password. You can do so online, in the section “Banking Operations – Payment Cards – SecureCode Registration” of Trast.Net Internetbank. Changing of the password will take a few seconds and is free of charge.
